I post this blog anonymously, not because I am scared, but more to do with the fact it is sometimes easier to describe situations and people if I can be removed from them. Also I know some work people know who I am and enjoy what I post )as long as it is not about them)
An interesting scenario came up with a colleague at work the other day. She had a public blog that her old bosses used to read. That was great until it turned sour with her employers. It then became a problem to post anything that was happening or to explain why things were so bad. So now she has moved to an anonymous blog that no one has the address to.
Isn't it ironic that a blog has become the secret diary we don't want our friends to read, yet the very nature of the Internet means we have to hide our identities in case anyone we know stumbles across it and sees what we have written about them. It is also a sad fact of blogdom that the only way people will find our blogs is if we give them the address. Its a kind of self defeating thing. "Here is my blog address, but don't read it - some of it is about you..."
We share more with strangers than we do with our friends.
