Compatibility issues at the supermarket

I had a weird experience the other day. I was doing a bit of shopping at Aldi with the girls.
The thing with Aldi is although they have cheap prices the range is very limited. I do however love their ability to sell garden pumps and arc welders in the same isles as the strawberries.

Having filled the trolley and paid we then took to trolley full of bagged groceries to Coles to get some of the other bits.

I then found a percularity of modern design (or it might be a cunning ploy) by the supermarket designers.

Aldi trolleys are too wide to fit through the checkouts at Coles...

It was mighty embarrassing to have to reverse out (through the queue behind me) and get let out the special needs till.

It reminds me of my favourite saying. What's the good thing about standards ? There are so many took choose from..
(its a techy thing)
