Dishwasher etiquette

How did we survive before the advent of the dishwasher - I actually remember this, as it was only 6 months ago that I got one.

I hated doing the dishes and there was always the dishes stand-off when you or your partner would avoid them like the plague. You never want to be caught filling the sink to wash a single cup...
This has now been transferred to the dishwasher.

Once you put a single dish in it is then your job to load the entire thing, or worse when you are in the mood to load it before you go to bed you realise it is still full of yesterdays (now clean) dishes. Only thing worse than loading the dishwasher is unloading it first.

I always get sneaky and use cups and mugs from the clean load without emptying the whole thing. Thing is I caught the wife doing the same thing....

So the question is - should the person who fills also empty, or is it fair to share ??
